In the left sidebar you will find the search function. Select the corresponding item type "Documents", "Assets" or "Objects" from the drop-down menu. Enter the search term in the dialog box. In addition, you can define the type behind the search field (e.g. image, text, audio, video, folder, etc. for "Assets"). This specifies your search and limits the results.

Once you have found the element you are looking for, you can open it as a tab by double-clicking on it.

If you need the search often and several times in a row, it is worth fixing the dialog window as a tab. To do this, click on the two arrows pointing apart at the top right.
