Copying and pasting objects

Copy, Paste, Cut and Move Object

Copy Object

You can copy an existing object by right-clicking on it.

Paste as child element (recursive)

Right-click where you want to insert the object. In the menu that opens, you have four options under "Paste". Click on "Paste as child element (recursive)" to include all subfolders and child objects.

If the object is inserted on the same level as the original object, it has the suffix "_copy".

Paste recursively and update references

If you click on "Paste recursively and update references", the object is also inserted with all objects below it. In addition, changes to references (links) are updated.

If the object is inserted on the same level as the original object, it has the suffix "_copy"

Paste as child element

To insert an object without child objects and subfolders, press "Paste as child element".

If the object is inserted on the same level as the original object, it has the suffix "_copy".

Paste only contents here

If you want to copy the contents of one object into another, select "Paste only contents here".

Attention: The same object class must exist here. Existing contents will be overwritten!

Move Object

To move an object, right-click on it and select "Cut". Then insert it again at the desired location.

It is easier if you drag and drop the object to the desired location.
